Improve Nexley's handwriting

Write the character shown. Nexley matches your own hand, so this only has to be done once.

Reading on this device…

English handwriting. Check names and numbers; maths and diagrams are not supported. Your original ink stays until you choose Replace.

What did it read wrong?

Change any character Nexley got wrong. It learns your hand from the fix, so the same writing reads correctly next time.

Add topic

Syllabus:

Paste the structure. Topics at the left margin, dot points indented beneath them. A leading code is picked up automatically.

Or paste it straight from NESA: open your syllabus on the NSW Curriculum site or in its PDF, select the content and paste it here. Every dot point comes in, under its topic or inquiry question.

New card

A card has to make you produce the answer, not recognise it. Write the front as a question you could be asked in an exam.

File this capture

Filing it against a syllabus point graduates it into your notebook. It stops being classwork and starts counting towards coverage.

Add a task

Leave hours blank if you do not know. Nexley counts those separately rather than pretending they are free.

Feedback

Nexley is early and being built week by week. What is missing, what is annoying, what you would use if it existed. All of it is worth sending. You will see what happened to it in the list below.

Your notes are not attached. Only what you type here is sent, and which version of the app you are on.

What you have sent

Share your progress

For when someone asks how school is going and the honest answer is longer than "fine". Copy this into a message. It is text, not a link, so there is nothing left online afterwards.

No marks and nothing you have written are included. Only how much of each syllabus you have covered, what is due, and what is waiting to be reviewed.

Send this note

Type someone's Nexley username. They get a copy of this note as it is now, not a link to it, so anything you write in it later stays yours.

Shared with you

Notes other people sent you. Keep copies one into your own notebook, where it is yours and works offline like anything else. Until you do, it lives on the server and the sender can take it back.

Sent by you

Comps

Write a test, send the code to whoever you want, and compare when you have all sat it. Only people you give the code to can see it, and nobody is ranked against anyone they did not choose.

Yours

Write a test

Your own questions. Nexley has no question bank, so this is a paper you write out. Everyone who joins sits the same one and marks their own, which means a comp is only as honest as the people in it. That is the deal, and it is stated here rather than pretended away.

Photograph a page

The board, a textbook, or your own marked paper. It gets straightened up and cleaned so it reads like a page rather than a photo, and you can write over it with the pencil once it is in.

Nexley

What year are you in?

Nexley files your notes against your actual syllabus, and Year 11 and Year 12 are different courses, so knowing your year means the syllabus you paste is read against the right one. You can skip it, and change it in Settings whenever you move up.

Appearance

Light or dark
New notes start in
Accent

The accent is the colour of everything the app does: links, the current note, a filled progress bar. It is not the colour of your subjects, which you choose per subject.

School

Used to show the right syllabus codes when you paste a syllabus. Year 11 and Year 12 are different courses. Change it here when you move up a year.

Privacy

Which screens get opened and how often: counts and fixed labels only. It goes to Nexley's own database and nowhere else, there is no advertising or tracking company involved, and it is built so it cannot carry a note, a title or anything you have written. Turning this off changes nothing about how the app works. What is collected.

Your work

A snapshot is taken automatically once a day. Export is a plain file that needs no account and no internet to read back.

Getting help

Feedback comes back to you with a reply. A problem report is write-only on purpose. Nothing in it can ever be read back out, which is what keeps your notes out of a crash log.

Account

Removes your account and everything in it: notes, marks, papers, shares and comps. There is no snapshot for this one; it cannot be undone.

Delete your account?

You will be signed out and unable to sign back in. Your account and everything in it (every subject, note, mark, paper, share and comp entry) is kept for 60 days in case you change your mind (email alecjordaan12@gmail.com to get it back), then permanently deleted. Export first if you want your own copy.

Your username

This is how someone sends you a note or invites you to a comp. Pick something you would say out loud. It is not your email, and it is not your real name unless you want it to be.

3 to 20 characters. Letters, numbers and underscores, starting with a letter. You can change it later. Anything already sent keeps the name it was sent under.

Feedback on this answer

Paste the marking criteria you were given, the actual words, from the marking guide or the task sheet. It marks against those and nothing else. Without them there is nothing to mark against, so it will not guess.

This is not your mark. It never goes into the paper, it is never averaged with a real mark, and it disappears when you close this. A real mark is one a teacher gave you.
Written by an AI model, not a person. It can misread you or misapply a criterion, so read it as a second opinion and check it against the criteria yourself. What is sent, and where.

Report a problem

What went wrong? Rough is fine: what you were doing and what happened is more useful than being precise.

Sent with your report, so it can be traced:

None of your notes are included: not their content, titles or subjects.

Snapshots

Taken automatically about once a day, and always before an import, a restore or an update. Restoring takes a snapshot of right now first, so it is reversible.

Recently deleted

Anything you delete stays here for 30 days, then it is gone for good. Restoring a subject brings back the pages that were deleted with it.
